Eight Golden Treasures

$27.50

The Eight Golden Treasures are a set of exercises that are broken down individually, each one focusing on a different physical area and Qi meridian of the body. Traditional Eight Golden Treasures contains both a standing and seated set of the Eight postures. In the modern era, the standing version is by far the most widely practised. There is no particular order in which the eight pieces are executed, however the following set is a standing set practised/taught by the Australian Academy of Tai Chi.

The book contains techniques for breathing focusing on slowing down the breath and using the diaphragm. It focuses on increasing the capacity of the lungs while opening up the channels in the body. It shows movements step by step and in detail of how to perform the movement.

Healthy breathing is mainly about the mental focus that we apply when breathing and some physiological aspects such as breathing through the nose and using diaphragmatic breathing. It does not require forcing the breath by lifting the chest or mentally overriding the depth and frequency of your breathing.
